The stories and emotions illustrated through lines on sculptures – as seen in the 100 Urban Faces – leave the paper and enrich themselves to the plasticity of clay. The flat, two-dimensional, intuitive drawing and its urge to become three-dimensional characterize this series of work.
Each one of the 100 Urban Faces – in ceramic – started out with random lines made while I was looking away. These art pieces were etched on clay and fired two to three times up to 1060°C
The 100 Urban Faces series of wall sculptures are available. For details, please contact me at art@atamayka.com
